Landward Appraisal Limited (LAL) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Landward Management Limited. Landward Management Limited, established in 1999, is a privately owned company, based in Dunedin which holds a number of Crown contracts
In addition it has recently completed a substantial property risk assessment project for the Crown.
 
LAL is establishing itself as a leading provider of specialist valuation, compensation assessment, arbitration and mediation services. It has a client base encompassing both the private and public sector. This client base includes a number of offshore investors, private corporate interests, private investors, energy generators and legal firms.
 
LAL has accumulated considerable knowledge based around rural easement issues, general access issues and environmentally and economically sustainable development modelling for rural properties.
 
LAL was established in 2006 to meet an increasing demand for specialist services to the high end rural and corporate market and also to local and central government services. The fields in which it operates are:

LAL has spent considerable time recently researching and developing market leading easement valuation models and SLAM (Superior Landscape Amenity Margins) models. These are proving robust and particularly useful for client requirements.

LAL maintains a valuation team which operates in the specialist areas of pastoral farm valuations and compensation assessment. Recently Landward has completed valuations on significant pastoral properties and a number of compensation assessments for communication sites, wind farms and roading projects. 

LAL completes due diligence reports for offshore and onshore farm purchasers. This covers freehold and leasehold properties and includes financial analysis, farm management plans, development planning and statutory and regulatory compliance. It accomplishes this task to the highest of standards through contracting the services of appropriate individuals and companies who skills are identified as being required. Typically these include legal, specialist valuation, farming management and development skills.

LAL is able to add value for clients requiring rural valuation/appraisal services and specialist commercial and business valuation/appraisal services.

LAL also has mediation and arbitration experience that is focussed upon land issues in general and Public Works Act matters in particular.
